Breakfast is its own restaurant category in the United States. Diners serve eggs, pancakes, hash browns and bottomless coffee from early morning, sometimes around the clock; breakfast and brunch restaurants open around 7 and close in the early afternoon; delis and sandwich shops sell egg sandwiches and bagels to go and switch to lunch by 11. Weekend brunch, roughly 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is the busiest shift of the week, and well-known spots run waits of 30 to 60 minutes; many now take reservations or a waitlist through an app. Expect large portions, free refills on drip coffee and a tip of 15 to 20 percent for table service. Creperies, waffle houses and bistros round out the group with sweeter or European-style menus.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Jahn's at (718) 651-0700; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, jahnsrestaurant.com.
Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 1,056 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded diners in Jackson Heights.
Jackson Heights is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Jackson Heights follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

As a born and riased child of Queens I cannot believe I had never eaten here. Stepped in today and was not dissapointed. The food was very good quality. I had the French toast with bacon, sausage and 2 eggs. The food came at a relatively fast timing and the staff was friendly. I will be returning when I am able to.

Went old-school at Jahn's Ice Cream Parlor with my sons — because sometimes a man needs burgers, breakfast sausage, and dessert that requires teamwork. 🍔🍨 This place is pure nostalgia — wood-grain panels, vintage decor, and the kind of friendly service that makes you feel like you’ve been coming here since 1972… even if it’s your first time. I ordered the Cheeseburger — melted American, toasted bun, cole slaw & pickle. Simple. Classic. Perfect. A real dinner cheeseburger. 💪 One son went with the Western Omelette with home fries and breakfast sausage — and I’m telling you… they might make the best breakfast sausage in NYC. My other son kept it classic: 2 eggs over easy, home fries, and breakfast sausage — because real men respect breakfast… even at dinner. 🍳 Then came dessert… Banana Split — house specialty. Chocolate. Vanilla. Banana. Sprinkles. Whipped cream. Cherry. Basically a celebration in a glass boat. 🚢🍌 And because we clearly had no self-control… we added a Black & White Cookie too. Half chocolate, half vanilla… 100% gone in 30 seconds. 🍪 Historic diner. Massive sundaes. Incredible service. This is the spot for birthdays, celebrations, or just a classic American comfort foo

First time visitor and it won’t be the last. Excellent service! The place was moderately busy with about 50% of seats filled and there were sufficient staff who were very attentive. Food was fresh and well portioned. Restaurant was clean. Old school diner decor. Didn’t get ice cream this time but great selection on the menu.

classic american diner spot in jackson heights/roosevelt avenue area. expansive menu with plenty of options for all tastes and it all sounds so nice that you will probably get stuck on what to order. we ordered a chicken parm sandwich, which came with fries and a chicken noodle soup and was one of the daily specials. also went for the big jahns special breakfast which comes with everything you'd want at brunch - eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. jahns also has a huge ice cream selection and we got one strawberry malted and one vanilla milkshake. everything was really tasty and reasonably priced with great service - definitely recommend

Located on busy 37th Ave. We walked by Jahn’s one time and got reminded that morning so we went. There was a parade so cross streets were blocked and finding parking was more difficult. Meter or residential parking spaces around. Not far from Roosevelt Ave/Jackson Hts/74th St station hub. Loved the ambiance - like an old fashioned ice cream parlor/diner with the stained glass lampshades and dark wood/maroon upholstery. Narrow and long space up front, more tables in the back. Was full when we went but glad wait wasn’t too long. 3 of the waitstaff asked to take our order, but the one who actually took it became assigned to us- was patient and kept returning to check on us. Our coffee was refilled a few times. Thought prices were ok on the menu but noted later of $1 more for egg dishes (i really should check the bill while there in case have questions). I did see a note at the cashier stating a $0.50 surcharge due to the egg shortage but this was when I was already paying. Large menu - breakfast served all day, to lunch/dinner options. Got a corned beef from the egg sandwich section. Portion was ok for me, corned beef a bit dry so coleslaw and pickle helped, fried egg overwell (wa
